CrewProgress rings on projects
A project ring gives you a small view of progress beside the project. In 0.2.5 the rings sat in the sidebar's project rows. The sidebar is gone; the rings now sit in the row of rooms at the top centre of your dashboard. Studio comes first, then each project as a ring.
What the ring measures
A project's ring shows how close it is to its north star, as Crew on this Mac reads it. You don't set the ring's percentage by hand, and Crew never estimates it. The Goals widget's North star tab shows the same number, with the project's milestones. See Milestones and outcomes.
When Crew hasn't measured a project, its ring stays empty. An empty ring does not mean the project is at 0% or done; it means there is no reading.
The dock
The row of rooms is a dock. Its places never move: switching rooms slides the highlight and the room changes underneath. Hover over the dock and each room's ring opens below it, growing as your pointer comes near, the way the macOS Dock does. With Reduce Motion on, only the highlight moves.
While a room's crew is working, its ring carries a still working arc; a quiet room is dimmed.
Other signs on the row
- A small dot on a ring means something in that room needs you.
- Hover over the row to see each room's status in plain words, such as Working, Needs you, Idle, Paused or Stuck, needs a look. A room whose crew hasn't been seen says its Chief is asleep.
- Click a ring to enter that room.
