Milestones and outcomes

Milestones are the important results your company is working towards. In 0.2.5 they showed as a list of Outcomes, each with a ring and a target date, beside the chat. That view went with the old column. Now they show in the Goals widget on your dashboard, on its North star tab (North Star: "Are we closer to our north star than yesterday?").

In a project's room

The widget shows the project's progress toward its north star as a percentage and a bar, with the north star in Crew's words when it has one.

• At medium size, Next milestone names the first milestone not yet done.
• At large size, it lists up to six milestones, each marked Done or with its current state.
• Underneath, a line counts them, for example 2 of 5 milestones done.

The percentage is Crew's own reading for that project. You don't enter it by hand, and Crew never estimates it. When Crew hasn't measured the project, the widget shows – and says it isn't measured, rather than showing 0%. The same number fills the project's ring in the row of rooms at the top of the dashboard. In Studio

In Studio, the Goals widget your dashboard starts with lists your projects, each with its ring, its percentage when measured, its stage and how many things need you. At medium size it shows the first three and how many more.

Close the gap

In a project's room, Close the gap puts a question about the north star in your Chief's message box. Nothing is sent until you send it.
