Your machines

Every founder runs the same Crew app. What it shows about machines depends on what Crew on this Mac knows, not on a hidden setting on one Mac. When Crew on this Mac has heard from a machine, the machine tools appear. When it hasn't, they stay out of your way.

When you see machine tools

The machine tools show once Crew on this Mac lists at least one machine that has reported in. Then you get:

• File › Add Machine…
• the Account menu in the menu bar, with Nudge Agent…, Dispatch…, Watch Pane and Request reset…. See Your AI accounts.

If Crew on this Mac has no machines yet, or only machines that have never reported, none of these appear. They show up by themselves when the first machine reports, and go away if Crew loses its connection to Crew on this Mac.

Add a machine

Choose File › Add Machine…. The sheet lists the steps:

1. Install crew-node on the machine.
2. Pair it with a one-time node code.
3. The machine then appears with your others.

The Get Code button is not active yet: Crew on this Mac issues node codes once node pairing is connected. Until then, choose Ask and your Chief's name, and your Chief of Staff walks you through installing crew-node and pairing it. Cancel closes the sheet without sending anything.

Posting to X

The X composer works the same way on every Mac. It posts from whichever X account is signed in to x.com in your browser; there is no account to pick in Crew. See Post to X.
