CrewDrift alarm
The Drift alarm tells you when your crew's work drifts away from your goal, so you don't have to watch every thread. It only reads what Crew already knows: the work claimed, the release plan, your accounts' usage and what the threads are doing. Nothing new is collected.
It used to sit at the top of the Today card. Now its reading is part of the Crew health widget on your dashboard, on its Focus tab (Crew focus: "Is the crew's effort going to the right place?").
What the widget shows
- A verdict word from Crew: On plan, Drifting or Off plan. Until Crew names one, it says No verdict yet.
- On goal: the share of recent thread time spent on your active north star.
- On building: the share of today's AI use that went into writing and testing code, rather than re-reading.
- When a thread is wasting effort, Fix the leak puts a request in your Chief's message box. Nothing is sent until you send it.
A reading that isn't live says as of and the time. A number Crew hasn't read shows as – or not measured yet, never as a made-up value.
The alarms
Crew raises an alarm when it is sure one of these is happening:
- paperwork (reports, reviews, plans, records) is over a fifth of the work;
- a thread is working on something that isn't in the version you're shipping next;
- a thread has been working for an hour with nothing done;
- two or more threads are on the same piece of work;
- an account will run out before its allowance resets.
When Crew reports alarms, Crew's menu bar panel shows how many, for example 2 drift alarms · open Today. Choose it to open Crew. The dashboard doesn't list each alarm line in this version.
When the information behind an alarm isn't available, that alarm stays silent. Crew never guesses that everything is fine.
