Accessibility in Crew

Crew works with the accessibility settings on your Mac. This page covers what Crew supports today, and what doesn’t work well yet.

VoiceOver

Crew’s rooms and widgets name themselves to VoiceOver:

Each room in the row at the top of your dashboard reads its name, its status, such as Needs you, and how close it is to its north star when that is known.
A widget reads its question, its answer and how current the reading is. A reading Crew doesn’t have is read out as unknown, never as zero.
While you edit your widgets, each one reads its name and size.

Keyboard

Crew’s commands are in the menu bar, and many have shortcuts. See Keyboard shortcuts for the full list. Crew’s keyboard focus ring uses your Mac’s own focus colour.

Reduce Motion

Turn on Reduce Motion in System Settings › Accessibility. Crew’s animations, including first-run setup and moving between views, then become a simple fade, or nothing moves at all.

Increase Contrast

Turn on Increase Contrast in System Settings › Accessibility. Crew’s colours switch to their high-contrast versions.

Choose View › Bigger (⌘+) or View › Smaller (⌘-) to change the size of Crew’s text. Crew has six sizes. View › Default Size (⌘0) goes back to the default. You can also set Text size in Settings › Appearance. In Agents mode, ⌘0 shows your Chief instead; View › Default Size still works from the menu.

What doesn’t work well yet

Crew is available in English only.
