Stream Deck

Coming in 0.4.0 · describes the Stream Deck controls planned for Crew 0.4.0, which isn’t released yet.

With the Crew plugin, a Stream Deck runs your stream from Crew: Go Live, Stop, scenes, Presenting mode and clips. The plugin talks only to Crew on this Mac. It holds no AI, account or service keys, and it never reads other plugins’ data.

Pair it

1. In Crew, open Settings › Stream Deck and turn it on. It’s off until you do.
2. Crew shows a pairing code. Type it into the Crew plugin’s settings in the Stream Deck app.
3. To disconnect a deck, revoke it in Settings › Stream Deck. It stops working at once, and it needs a new code to pair again. After five wrong codes, pairing locks for five minutes.

The keys

Go Live, Scene and Clip that work only while Crew’s Streaming switch is on. Stop always works.

• Go Live: a request, never the start by itself. Crew shows the Go Live card, and you start the stream there.
• Stop: ends the stream at once, with no confirm, even if the Streaming switch is off.
• Scene: switches to a scene you choose, or the next or previous one.
• Presenting on: turns Presenting mode on at once. While you’re live, it can’t be turned off, from the deck or anywhere else (“Stays on while live”).
• Clip that: marks the last 10 to 120 seconds in your local recording. It never posts anything.

While Crew isn’t running, the keys show “Crew closed”.

Not in 0.4.0

Keys for what’s waiting on you, handing things to your Chief of Staff and answering cards, talking to your Chief of Staff and muting the mic, Crew’s music player (and its stream-safe rule on air), and ready-made deck profiles are parked for a later version. This page will describe them once they’re scheduled.
