Selecting text

In Talk, you can select text across several replies at once, the way you would in a document.

Select and copy

• Drag from a point in one reply down through the next ones. The highlight follows across every reply you pass. Past the top or bottom edge, the conversation keeps scrolling while you hold the pointer there.
• Press ⌘C to copy. The replies are copied in reading order, with a blank line between them, including parts that have scrolled out of view.

Only the replies are part of the selection. Your own messages in between are skipped.

Selecting across replies works when your conversation uses the Document style. See Document or Bubbles.

Inside a single reply, selection works as it does anywhere on your Mac: double-click selects a word, triple-click a paragraph, and Shift-click extends the selection. Clicking a link still opens it. A new click clears the selection.

Copied text keeps its words but not its links.
