Live data

Your widgets and panels use records read from Crew on this Mac. Crew reads the latest information when it connects and updates what's on screen when that information changes.

Until a reading arrives, a widget says so in its own words, such as Not measured yet or Reading…, over an empty face. A live connection never fills a gap with sample accounts, approvals or companies, and an unknown is never shown as zero.

When Crew on this Mac cannot be reached

Crew puts no banner over your chat or your work when Crew on this Mac stops answering. Each widget says so itself instead.

Crew on this Mac isn't answering means Crew could not complete its connection or read. It does not mean your crew or work has been deleted.

If a read succeeded earlier, Crew keeps that information visible, one step dimmer and dated, for example as of 14:05. When a refresh fails, the footer says why and adds the last good reading is kept. Treat those values as the last known state, not a fresh reading. Before the first successful read, the widget stays empty and says Crew on this Mac isn't answering.

Crew tries to reconnect automatically, waiting a little longer between tries (up to 30 seconds). Where a widget offers Retry, you can try now. You can keep reading what's on screen and drafting while Crew reconnects.

When only one section is missing

Some readings depend on what Crew on this Mac currently provides. A missing reading can leave one widget unavailable while other widgets update normally.
