The conversation menu

Rename a conversation, start another in the same folder, rewind to an earlier prompt, and see the files and commands it touched.

Where to find it

• In the main window, click the conversation’s title with ⌄ at the top. It offers Rename…, New Conversation, Switch To and Show All Conversations.
• The full menu is the ⋯ button (Conversation) in a conversation’s header. It shows in a conversation’s own window (File › New Conversation Window, ⌥⌘N) and on each pane when several conversations are open side by side.

Each item shows only when Crew on this Mac, running the conversation, offers it. If one is missing, it doesn’t offer it yet.

What each item does

• Rename… gives the conversation a new title.
• New Conversation Here starts a new conversation in the same project folder, in the default permission mode, never Bypass.
• Rewind… goes back to before one of your prompts (see below).
• Move to Background (⌃B) lets the running work carry on in the background. It works only while a turn is running.
• Files & Terminals… lists the files this conversation changed, with lines added and removed, and the commands it runs in the background. Output shows a command’s output. Stop… then Stop it ends a command; Keep leaves it running.
• Archive… asks first, then stops the conversation. It won’t start again until you choose Unarchive. Nothing is deleted. A conversation that is working, waiting on a card or open in Terminal can’t be archived until you stop it or bring it back.

Checkpoints and Rewind to Here

Each prompt you send has a checkpoint: a faint curved arrow under it that brightens when you point at it. Click it, or right-click the prompt and choose Rewind to Here…. The arrow hides while a turn is running.

The Rewind sheet lists your prompts. Pick one, then choose what to restore: Conversation and code, Conversation only or Code only. When the restore includes code, choose Preview first to see how many files would change. Previewing starts a stopped conversation.

Restoring the conversation puts that prompt’s text back in an empty message box, and the conversation carries on from there. Nothing is deleted from disk. You can’t rewind while a turn is running; stop it first.

If Crew on this Mac refuses an action, Couldn’t do that shows its reason.
