Balance

Balance is one capacity reading for all your AI plans. It shipped in 0.2.5 and became a card in 0.2.6. The widget set your canvas uses since 0.2.9 has no Balance widget, so the Balance number is not shown in this version of the app. To see which account runs out first, use the Accounts & limits widget.

What the number means

The ratio is written with ×:

• 1.00× is break-even: available supply matches demand at the reported pace.
• Below 1.00× means demand is greater than supply; you are using capacity faster than it is replenished over the next 7 days.
• Above 1.00× means there is spare capacity at that pace.

The reading comes from reported account usage and Crew's capacity calculation, not a number you type. It counts refills and banked resets. Provider details matter: the pooled reading can look healthy while one provider is running low, so Balance also names the weakest provider and how the last hour's pace compares. A projected change depends on that pace continuing; it is not a promise of future capacity.

A percentage is a different reading

Before the ratio is available, Balance can give the mean weekly percentage left across your accounts that were read. It is not the break-even ratio. A partial reading says how many accounts were read.

The menu-bar mark

A small three-step mark beside Crew's icon in the menu bar shows the Balance level. It appears only while Crew's reading is known and fresh; with no known reading, or one older than 30 minutes, there is no mark.

When the reading is unknown

A missing or stale reading is Not measured yet, with Crew's reason or the reading's age, never a made-up zero. Runway unknown · not enough history yet means Crew has too little history to project. Idle · no work running describes no current demand; it does not mean the account has no capacity.
